Apply to become the Executive Director of the Shaker Heights Development Corporation (SHDC), a non-profit community improvement corporation created to work in partnership with the City of Shaker Heights to enhance commercial revitalization in the City. The SHDC is seeking an energetic, creative, talented Executive Director to implement the organization’s 2025-2030 strategic plan and partner with City leaders on commercial redevelopment and real estate initiatives. Lead an engaged and supportive Board of Directors and be empowered to work independently; solve problems; think strategically; establish relationships; and collaborate with various government, business, and community partners.
The SHDC enhances the commercial development efforts of the City of Shaker Heights by managing the Shaker Lee Development Fund and its real estate; managing the Dealership, a co-working facility and office space facility; and engaging and supporting local businesses.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and solutions oriented; have a proven track record of fundraising from a variety of philanthropic sources and donors; the ability to build rapport and relationships in community, business and institutional settings; strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to think strategically in the design and execution of projects.
