This one-day workshop will cover the basics of HUD Part 58 environmental reviews. Participants will learn to identify the levels of environmental review for their projects and activities, provide comprehensive project descriptions, and use online resources including state and federal websites to analyze their projects for environmental compliance. Recent updates to HUD policies (on radon and floodplain management) will also be covered.
Trainer Bio
Kathryn Au is a housing and community development environmental specialist at ICF, where she has been providing basic and advanced environmental review training to HUD grantees and responsible entities for 10 years. Prior to working at ICF, Ms. Au was an environmental specialist and Presidential Management Fellow at HUD’s Office of Environment and Energy, where she led the development and design of the HUD Environmental Review Online System (HEROS), managed content on the HUD Exchange Environmental Review website, and led an internal working group on contamination policy.
