The Ohio Department of Development is presently seeking a Special Projects Coordinator to oversee the review and distribution of external and internal communications and to assist with the coordination and execution of various virtual and in-person events. This position will work closely with Community Services Division staff and the Communication and Legal offices.
Some of the duties you will perform:
• Leads special technical and administrative projects as directed, in support of the Offices of Community Assistance, Energy and Environment, Housing Support, Community Enhancements, Community Infrastructure within Community Services Division (i.e., CSD).
• Acts in a fiduciary capacity to Chief & Assistant Chief of Community Services Division.
• Prepares and approves documentation and materials (e.g., public meeting materials, reports, marketing materials, educational information, briefing documents, grants) related to CSD administered programs (e.g., Community Development Block Grants, Community Services Block Grants, Home Energy Assistance Program, Home Weatherization Assistance Program).
• Creates program policies, goals and procedures.
• Acts as liaison between Communications and Legal office to ensure CSD documentation and materials are being prepared in line with CSD and the Ohio Department of Development (i.e., ODOD) standards and reviewed in a timely manner.
• Works collaboratively with various stakeholders to manage logistics for various division meetings and division training events (e.g. Home Weatherization Assistance Program Policy Advisory Council, Public Benefits Advisory Board, Housing Advisory Meetings).
• Works with Office of Communications staff to determine CSD graphic needs for presentations and marketing materials.
• Works with CSD staff to prepare items prior to communications and legal review.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in social science, public administration or related area.
2. Experience with program management, group facilitation and public policy research and development.
3. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with experience dealing with many types of people at various levels.
4. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to various sites around Ohio.
This position requires you to work in the office Monday-Friday with flexibility in starting and ending times. The job is located in the Vern Riffe building, 77 South High St. Columbus, OH 43215
