The Office of Community Assistance within the Ohio Department of Development is seeking to fill the position of: Grant and Program Lead
What you’ll do:
The ideal candidate for the position of Grant and Program Lead in the Office of Community Assistance (OCA) within
the Ohio Department of Development is a strategic and detail-oriented leader with a proven track record in grant
management and program development with OCA’s grants that include but not limited to the Low-Income Home
Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) and Emergency Rental Assistance
Program (ERA). This individual excels in creating and implementing comprehensive rules, policies, and strategies for
new grant programs from inception to execution. They are adept at setting priorities, managing time schedules, and
coordinating effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth program launches and
compliance with federal and state regulations. The candidate should demonstrate strong skills in communication and
technical support, with a knack for developing accurate and timely reports. They should be comfortable supporting
senior leadership in various capacities, including organizing conferences and making impactful presentations. With a
keen ability to address issues proactively and manage grant approval processes, this person will thrive in a dynamic
environment and contribute significantly to the success of Development’s mission.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in Grants Preparation and Administration (preferred): Proven experience in developing, managing, and administering grant programs, including rule and policy development.
2. Program Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate complex programs, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
3. Public Relations and Communication: Skilled in managing external communications, making presentations, and maintaining positive relations with stakeholders.
4. Human Relations and Team Leadership: Ability to effectively manage and support team members, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative work environment.
5. Knowledge of Government Structure and Processes (preferred): Familiarity with Ohio’s governmental framework, including relevant offices, codes, and initiatives.
6. Proficiency with Technology and Data Analysis: Competent in using personal computers and software (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook), operating office equipment, and analyzing data to prepare detailed reports.
This position requires you to work in the office Monday-Friday with flexibility in starting and ending times. The job is located in the Vern Riffe building, 77 South High St. Columbus, OH 43215
