Congratulations to those who participated in the CDBG Basics Training held on February 27-29, 2024, and opted to pursue the OCCD Community Development Professional Certification by completing the CDBG Basics exam. As of the date of publication, eighty-five percent (85%) of the 75 participants completing the exam received a passing score.
The OCCD Community Development Professional Certification was established to create a curriculum of training topics for Community Development professionals to understand the CDBG program regulations as well as the federal requirements they manage on a daily basis.
The initial training – CDBG Basics – is the foundation of the certification process followed by required courses that include Environmental Review, Davis Bacon, and Income Certification. Upon completion of all courses, the OCCD Community Development Professional Certification is issued. The certification will be valid for a two-year period and will remain valid as long as the recipient continues to earn one continuing education credit each year from the list of electives, or a similar training reviewed and approved by OCCD.
If you would like to pursue the OCCD Community Development Professional Certification and/or would like to take the CDBG Basics exam, please reach out to Patricia Richards, Executive Director at office@occd.org for additional information.
