Subject: Application Open: Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act State Energy Efficiency Program for Ohio Communities

The Ohio Department of Development (Development) Office of Energy and Environment (OEE) is pleased to announce the application for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) State Energy Program (SEP) Energy Efficiency Program for Ohio Communities (EEPOC) is now available. The application can be accessed here. This application closes at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2023. OEE anticipates reviewing applications through December and awarding grants in January 2024. These dates are subject to change as necessary.

Funding Description:
The EEPOC is designed for energy efficiency retrofits on existing buildings. Total funding for this program is $8 million and maximum grant amounts are $250,000. Each Ohio county will be capped at $1 million in grant funding and a minimum of $5.4 million will be used for projects in Disadvantaged Communities as shown on the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool mapping system.

Eligible applicants must submit an American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Level II energy audit during the application process. Grant funding for energy audits is available through the IIJA Energy Efficiency Program for Ohio Communities Audit Support. Please visit Development’s community site for more information.
