♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦
The New Horizons Fair Housing Assistance Program provides funds to units of local government, or consortia of units of local government, to affirmatively further fair housing and eliminate barriers to fair housing.
These actions are in addition to a grantee’s Standard Fair Housing Program, which is required as part of the Office of Community Development Allocation Program and Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program applications. New Horizons fair housing strategies are based on locally assessed needs, and further the state’s fair housing goals.
The grant ceiling is up to $15,000 for one jurisdiction and up to an additional $5,000 for each additional county and/or city in a consortium, for a maximum award not exceeding $30,000.
The application acceptance dates are July 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. The process is competitive in that applicants must achieve at least the minimum threshold of scoring in order to be considered. Should the number of eligible applicants exceed the available funding, the awards will be issued in the order by which the applications were received. The application and attachments will be available on the Office of Community Development Grantee Technical Assistance site.
Access to the online application does not guarantee funding. Questions regarding the New Horizons Fair Housing Assistance Program should be directed to ocd@development.gov
