With your support, Western Reserve Land Conservancy surpassed our year-end goal of permanently conserving our 55,000th acre. That’s right, with the closing of 34 projects in 2018, we have now conserved 740+ properties totaling an incredible 56,200+ acres across northern and eastern Ohio!
For comparison: All of Manhattan is only 14,500 acres, so you could fit nearly 4 Manhattans on our preserved land. Locally, the City of Cleveland encompasses 52,780 acres, so our conserved land would extend beyond the city’s boundaries.
The diversity of our land conservation and restoration work is impressive: from conserving ecologically-significant properties to reforesting urban neighborhoods, preserving multi-generational farms, and creating new community parks.
Thank you for making all of this possible. We appreciate your partnership in filling our region with vibrant natural areas, working farms and forests, and healthier urban environments.
